Andre didn’t see the point in the life he had. Nobody wanted him, nobody needed him – he was a mess and he pretended every day that he was fine. Everyone trusted him with the sanity with others. What a joke. He was holding onto insanity and had been on the downward spiral to self-obliteration since the day he could walk. The point in living? There was none. He thought he was getting better, he thought he would be fine; but nothing made it better. He was alone. He was dead already so when he jumped in front of that car, it wasn’t suicide; it was an escape from a living world that he didn’t belong in.
When he awoke, which he didn’t think he would do, he couldn’t remember anything about the life he’d had. He wouldn’t have remembered his name if not for the ID that he was found with. Andre Facilier. Well, that sounded like a pretty cool name right? Then why did he feel like a dark cloud was hanging over his head all the time? Why did he feel nothing but pain? What happened to him before the accident that made his so severely depressed that death was the only answer? And the worst thing, why couldn’t have the pain gone away with the memories? He didn’t know what was worse. The fact that he hated the world and living in it, or the fact that he couldn’t remember why he felt this way. After treatment in the hospital was over and therapy seemed to be no use to the lost soul; Andre was sent to Disney Asylum. Those who recognise his face will know him, but he will not remember them.

Wait… So… It’s totally awesome to make non white characters black but when someone makes a black character white they have their head up their asses and are whitewashed?

Look, people of color are grossly underrepresented in media. White people? Everywhere. Look at 90% of most shows and movies. Most of the characters are white. Racebending (making traditionally white characters people of color) is an effort to level representation in media. But when you take a character of color and turn him white, you are taking something away from people of color, something they don’t have a lot to begin with—media representation.
That’s why the casting of the live action Avatar: The Last Airbender was so fucked up and why people should be embracing a black Annie. And that’s why this casting is messed up. And if you look at the blog, they have recast many many disney characters who are not white, as a white person. They’ve completely taken away any racial diversity whatsoever.
Racebending adds racial diversity, often with stories where little or no racial diversity exists. Whitewashing takes racial diversity away. They’re not the same thing.
Buy why is it purely about race? Why can’t it be because a certain actor could play the part very well?
I’m sorry I really do understand what you are saying but not everything has to be about the color of your skin. For any race.
